Taxi payments using credit card
All taxi drivers are required to accept card and contactless payments through a TfL-approved fixed card payment system positioned in the passenger compartment and deliver printed receipts upon request.
Mobile payment gadgets do not meet the licence requirements and are therefore considered unauthorised.
Any taxi found to be in violation of this licencing requirement will be issued a notice of unfitness, which will stay in effect until the condition is met and the taxi is presented for inspection. A driver caught using an unauthorised device may potentially have their eligibility for a licence evaluated.
Toilet facilities
When driving, it can be difficult to determine the location of public restrooms.
Taxi and private hire drivers have access to public restrooms at various sites. TFLwebsite provides information about the locations of public restrooms in London's important areas, including Heathrow and City airports.
Travel disruption
There are strikes on Abellio bus routes today, January 25, and January 26, which are anticipated to impact west and south London bus service.
As a result, affected areas may experience an increase in demand for taxi and PHV services.
