Cyber Security Incident TFL's latest TPH Notice 06/24 includes important information regarding a recent cyber security incident that TFL is actively resolving. Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys. For more information, visit TFL's webpage.
Westminster Bridge Closures Westminster Bridge and Westminster Bridge Road will be closed to all traffic in both directions between Lambeth Palace Road and Victoria Embankment from 20:00 to 06:00 on 17 and 18 October due to TFL's bridge maintenance work. Please plan your journey accordingly.
A316 London Road Roundabout Restrictions Starting Monday, 21 October, and lasting until mid-2025, TFL will implement lane restrictions on the A316 London Road roundabout and all approaches as part of highway improvement works. It is advised to plan ahead, allow extra time, and check your travel route in advance.
Rank Suspensions TFL has announced the following temporary taxi rank suspensions:
- Canfield Gardens (Finchley Road Station): Rank 5534 is suspended until 23:59 on 30 October, and Rank 5535 is suspended until 18:00 on 4 November due to utility works. Partial road closures are in place.
- Kew Road (Richmond Station): Rank 5815 is suspended until 14 October, with the rear 20 metres closed to facilitate scaffolding installation between 08:00 and 16:00.
- Haven Green (Ealing Broadway Station): Rank 5741 is suspended until 13:00 on 19 October for the installation of a new power supply to the taxi hut.
- Cadogan Place (Carlton Tower Hotel): Rank 5251 is suspended until 18:00 on 18 October due to utility works and traffic management.
- Camden High Street/Greenland Street: Rank 4312 is suspended until 17:00 on 15 November for waterproofing works on the underground toilets. A temporary rank is available outside Lloyds Bank on Camden High Street.
- Rathbone Street (Rathbone Hotel): Rank 5141 will be suspended from 07:00 to 18:00 on 18 October to facilitate carriageway resurfacing repairs.
- Russell Street (Covent Garden): Rank 5395 will be suspended from 20-24 October, each night from 20:00 to 10:00, for Christmas decorations installation.
- Brompton Road (Harrods): Rank 6192 will be suspended from 20 October to 22 November, between 22:00 and 06:00 each night, for overnight crane operations.
- Wellington Street (Lyceum Theatre): Rank 6015 will be suspended on 20 October to accommodate a special event. A road closure will be in place.
- Park Street (Grosvenor House Hotel): Rank 5151 will be suspended on 21 October for the Pride of Britain Awards Ceremony. A temporary rank will be provided in Reeves Mews.
- Pancras Road (King’s Cross Station): Rank 5708 will be partially suspended from 22-24 October for utility works.
- Great Russell Street: Rank 5655 will be suspended from 23-25 October to allow for carriageway utility works.
- Hollywell Lane (Citizen M Hotel): Rank 6018 will be suspended on 24 October to facilitate filming.
- Hertford Street (Lou Lou’s): Rank 6091 will be suspended on 24 October for a film premiere, with a road closure in place.
- Dover Street (Mahiki): Rank 8561 will be suspended daily until 21 October for building refurbishment works.
- Southwark Street (O'Meara Street): Rank 5578 will be suspended from 08:00 to 12:00 every Monday to Saturday until 28 March 2025 to accommodate deliveries to the Menier Gallery.
Blackwall Tunnel Closure The Blackwall Tunnel will be closed to southbound traffic from 23:00 on 18 October until 05:00 on 19 October due to ongoing works by TFL as part of the Silvertown Tunnel Project. Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) TFL is aware that some taxi drivers have received Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) penalty charge notices (PCNs) in error due to a system issue. Any incorrect PCNs will be canceled, and vehicle owners will receive written confirmation. Vehicle owners can also check their PCN status by entering the PCN and vehicle registration numbers on TFL’s website.

Additional Events and Demonstrations
- Tottenham Hale: Drumsheds will host a music event on 17 October, and increased traffic is expected in the area.
- Clapham Common: A festival will be held from 17-19 October, with large crowds and traffic expected.
- Kew Gardens: A seasonal event will take place from 18-20 October, with large crowds expected.
- Central London: On 20 October, road closures will occur for a procession from Horse Guards Parade to Wellington Barracks, passing through Trafalgar Square and The Mall.
- Wembley Stadium: An American football match will be held on 20 October, with large crowds expected.
- Demonstrations: A mobile demonstration will take place in Central London on 19 October from 11:00 to 14:00, and a static demonstration is planned at Parliament Square from 13:30 to 17:00.
Road Works and Closures
- A40 Westway: Until mid-October, TFL is closing the A3220 West Cross Route northbound from Holland Park to the Westway roundabout for critical safety and maintenance works. Signed diversions are in place, but local roads are expected to be extremely busy. Consider using alternative routes such as A312 The Parkway or A406 North Circular for connections to the A4.
