CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAYS IN DIFFERENT WAYS

Each year, all over the world, people especially women celebrate International Women?s Day. This day is celebrated on March 8. In the beginning of 1900s, a movement was initiated for the rights of women in the U.S. As a result of this movement, women?s all over the world were actually given certain rights. Like earlier, they had no right to vote. After this movement, women were granted having the right to vote.

In 1910, a suggestion by the International Socialist Woman?s Conference was made to hold women?s day each year. However, on March 8, 1917, women in Soviet Union were actually given suffrage and after that the day was celebrated as a national Holiday. The event has become an annual thing. The U.S. adopted this concept in 1975 after which International Women?s day has been an important event.

How Do Many Celebrate It Today?

Now that in many parts of the world, the event is celebrated, the way it is observed is different. In many countries, protests are carried out to commemorate the event while in other places, the day celebrates Womanhood.

Celebrating International Women?s day means you?re supporting the cause. There are a number of ways you can show your support.

• Start An Online Campaign: There are plenty of ways to start a campaign. Social media can be of great help for this cause. You can connect with people from all over the world and share your thoughts about the day. You can start a new campaign on Facebook or Instagram to spread awareness about this particular day. Let people know the beauty of this day and encourage them to be a part of it.

International Women?s day has due importance in today?s world. The only thing we can do is honor it the way it is meant to be.
